All you need to know about the difference between wooden roller blinds and PVC roller blinds

Similarities

At first glance, the two products look very similar: both can be set to 50 mm wide slats, both have a wooden appearance, and can be ordered with or without braiding. UNITC’s wooden blind

Bamboo is ecological because it is completely biodegradable. In addition, it grows faster than other types of wood. Since plants continue to grow even after being felled, bamboo can be harvested more frequently. Wooden roller blinds are natural products that are sensitive to humidity (it will expand or contract, and even warp).

 

Special PVC roller blinds

PVC roller blinds are made of thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride. This high-quality material is somewhat flexible and therefore breaks faster than hard plastic. PVC also has two other important advantages, namely moisture resistance and fire resistance (flame retardant). PVC does not absorb moisture, so it is not sensitive to changes in humidity. The water droplets will wipe off the surface well.

 

 

Bathroom room

If you want to install roller blinds suitable for the bathroom, we strongly recommend that you choose PVC roller blinds. As we mentioned earlier, wood is very sensitive to humidity in the room. As a result, it may deform and swell, causing the slat coating to crack. In this case, it is best to choose waterproof material PVC

 

 

Room in the kitchen

Do you want to hang your awning in the kitchen? Make sure that the windows are not near the cooking area, as the released steam will also expose the awning to excessive humidity. In this case, it is best to choose PVC blinds.

As mentioned earlier, PVC is a thermoplastic, which becomes soft under the action of heat and therefore deforms. If the product is left in the sun for too long or too often, the slats may warp.
